Thursday 16 May 2024, AMIBM hosted the final Symposium of the Biobased Value Circle Network, and it was truly an inspiring event filled with thought-provoking presentations and dynamic discussions.
This symposium: “Harnessing the Potential of Biobased Value Circles,” is the culmination of three years of innovative research and development aimed at accelerating the transition to a biobased and circular economy.
Four main themes will guide the discussions throughout the day, delving deep into the realms of possibility and opportunity for biobased materials and applications:
The symposium showcased the extensive highlights of the Biobased Value Circle project, bringing together industry and academia and informing the public of the project results. The program was structured around the four project strands: Biobased materials for technical applications, medical applications, functional polymers and sustainability, business transformations, and common language.
The presenters demonstrated not only the urgency but also the incredible potential of transitioning to a Biobased Economy.
Special thanks to our keynote speakers Prof. Wayne Visser, Prof. Fritz Vollrath, Prof. Irina Smirnova, and Assoc. Prof Per-Olof Syrén, their insights were very invaluable.
Next to the keynote speakers all the PhDs had the opportunity to present their work. Their passion for science continues to inspire us all.
The event facilitated discussions on each subject and provided ample space for networking, socializing, informing businesses on opportunities to implement the results, and both formal and informal discussions between all participants.
The organization is deeply grateful for everyone who participated and contributed to making this day so remarkable!
Thank you all for being part of this journey towards Harnessing the Potential of Biobased Value Circles!
